Dr. Dolly Sacristan is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of New Jersey and has been in practice for over fifteen years. She provides individual (children and adults), couples and family therapy. Her areas of expertise include working with survivors of intimate partner violence and child sexual abuse. Other areas of her work include working with individuals with mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and couples and family relational issues.

Dr. Sacristan’s work is guided by humanist principles that can foster the growth of individuals in a therapeutic milieu. These include genuineness, acceptance and empathy. She uses evidence informed interventions such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focus Therapy, Play Therapy and Support Therapy. Her clinical approach is sensitive to the language, cultural, religious and educational needs of diverse populations. Dr. Sacristan is fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Sacristan is also an assistant professor at the graduate School of Social Service in New York where she teaches clinical practice courses, she has worked in academia in the field of social work for over ten years. Her research work and interest include cultural competence in clinical practice with Latino clients, values and ethics in clinical practice and student clinical supervision models. She has presented her work at national and international conferences.
